Psoriasis is a non-contagious chronic skin condition that produces plaques of thickened, scaling skin.It is characterized by silvery scales. Its often associated with a positive family history. It can occur at any age and can affect any area of the body, the most common being, the scalp, elbows, knees, back, nails, palms and soles. Psoriasis is not a curable but its a controllable disease which has variable course, periodically improving and worsening. Triggers include infections, stress and cold.
